Mountain Girls (and boy), or Mountain Mommy

This weekend we drove forever and ever through fruit and reservations, up a windy road to visit the Little Nettie on the mountain. It was so much fun. I actually went on a hike. ME!? Jeez, what are these kids doing to me? Mr. ATL was fabulous, soaking up the bonding with the girls. He taught them how to throw a football, attempt to catch a football, and try and hit a softball.
We had some really wonderful talks. One of the girls finally asked me why I didn't believe in God, and for the first time ever, I couldn't answer because I knew that I did. Just being there with my little lost angels, watching the stars, talking, and staying up all night playing with my hair, made me believe. In what, I'm not sure, but I couldn't look her in the eye and tell her I didn't believe. That was nice. Surprising, but nice.
As usual Mommy Me had to keep everything together on no sleep and three and half hours of driving. I didn't admit until we were on the way down the mountain that I was two seconds away from a nasty panic attack the ENTIRE way up the mountain. These are the sacrifices you make when you are Mommy. I always figured my mom was just "doing her job," by carting us from place to place, never freaking out, and never falling asleep at the wheel; really she was just biting her lip, praying up the mountain, and hoping against hope that she had the strength to get us through. This is all very new for me, but it is wonderful and everyday I fall in love with my mom a little more.
Everyday should be Mommy Day. It's a hard job.

Oh Yeah. . .

So I had to update my blog. . . The Kid totally stole my template. Is pretty , no?

The La Perla Fund

No.
It's almost too sad to speak of. . .
Mr. ATL washed and DRIED my LA PERLA bra.
If you don't understand what that means go check this out: www.laperlausa.com

Now, do you see? Anyway, I'm stupid, well frivolous really, for buying a bra that costs that much, but you know, sometimes, people like to feel pretty. However, if you've read the last post, you realize that I am dealing gracefully with my age, and in doing that, I have decided not to over react. I'm not that upset. It is just a bra after all.
That being said: donations are welcome.
sniff. sniff.

Something Happened . . .

Wait for it. . .yes, I remember what the something was. . .I GOT OLD. I went to the BET Awards last night, waited outside forever in the hot sun, got inside, waited more, spent ten dollars(!) on a stupid cocktail (merci mes filles), then promptly got very bored and sleepy.
I was frustrated that the people there were just beyond explanation. The minute that the lights went down some one started SMOKING. This is why people hate us. Then on top of that, people were YELLING to the stage. Like LL Cool cares that you can't hear. It's an awards show, not a. . .I don't even know what.
Too much. Long story short, people had a bunch of nasty outfits, and I was too tired to even pay attention.
Anyway, when we finally left, I could have gone backstage, since I am so cute, but I didn't even care. I wanted Mexican food. It was good. Much better than BET.
I miss Nettie. I can't way to see her. She would have hated BET.

Big Girl Meetings and little babies

Yesterday I had a big girl meeting at The Big House, you know the corporate office. It was fabulous. Things are better than I predicted. Then we turned into Club 27 again last night, this time with the older folks, so it didn't last past 11:30!
Today I am sitting in my living room with two sleeping babies, one is Mr. ATL, who fell asleep on the floor while reading ESPN! The other is the best baby in the whole world, who belongs to my dear friend Lady Miss Taurus. She had to go to a interview and the gym, so I have Baby Man all day. I love him. I smell like baby (meaning spit up banana), I'm tired, and I love it. Can't wait!
